ABOUT DANIEL

The Daniel John Moore line of clothing is the culmination of a career working with men who understand that how we dress creates one’s individual brand and that will bear significantly upon such personal fundamentals as health, success and happiness… no matter where we live, work or play.

Upon moving to New York City, Daniel began his career in luxury menswear at the Bergdorf Goodman Flagship on 5th Avenue before settling at the Madison Avenue store of famed Roman retailer, Davide Cenci. For the next 15 years he worked side by side with one of the true gentlemen of the industry and grandson of the founder, David Cenci, clothing and accessorizing leading figures from business, medicine, diplomacy, sports and the arts.

Son of a Connecticut Yankee and European mother, Daniel traveled the globe from infancy as a result of his father’s military career. Along the way, he absorbed the spirit and textures of a variety of cultures that contributed greatly to his sensitivity for and the perception of, universal, timeless style.

Why Daniel John Moore

Every yard of fabric from the finest mills in Europe and the UK, upon arrival at the factory is stabilized, inspected, and sponged to protect against shrinkage and flaws.

Every meter of all-wool canvasses and interlinings used are washed with chemical free water and air-dried to guarantee their stability and ensure their strength and pliability.

The canvas is a Daniel John Moore exclusive. It consists of four layers made from wool, horsehair, and camel hair. A special machine is used to press and contour the shape of the canvas to allow for a more comfortable fit.

Only the Finest Materials

Canvasses and interlinings are hand fitted and hand pressed.

There is no fusing in a Daniel John Moore jacket.

Armholes and shoulders are assembled by hand.

Designed & Cut to Perfection

Edge stitching, buttons, and linings are all fitted and stitched by hand.

Decorative threads are pure silk.

Buttons used are all made of natural materials , horn, mother of pearl,  corozo , brass, enamel and titanium.

Constructed In Our Suite

Custom and made to measure orders are individually cut by hand.

Once the jacket has been completely sewn, each garment goes through an extensive pressing process, giving it its final shape. From the first cut of fabric to the final hand pressing of the lining, thirty-eight different stages of pressing and countless actual applications of steam, dry heat, and moisture guarantee the main body is shaped as the cutter and designer intended it to be, and that the fabric itself achieves its final rich luster.
